The invitation frame.

I searched for a word to place at the end of the sentence.
An invitation to…
I tried so many options.
I typed one. Erased it. Typed another. Pressed backspace.
Each word felt like standing before a blank wall, hoping it would become a doorway.
I deleted the last few words. The cursor kept blinking, waiting.
An invitation…
Then I stopped.
An invitation.
Maybe that is the invitation.

So often I ask God what comes next? As if every invitation must lead somewhere else.

We’ve been programmed to believe life is meant to be reaching for more. More to become. More to accomplish. More to prove. More waiting just beyond whatever we’re holding today.

But what if the invitation isn’t always TO something?
What if, sometimes, the invitation is simply to be with Him?
What if it is simply to receive and accept the invitation.

To believe that God's presence is not reserved for only whatever comes next but is fully available here.
Somewhere along the way I began living as though God was waiting for me in the next season instead of dwelling with me here.

It is a joy to dwell, and truly make a permanent home & settle down in the right now rather than just visiting.

If all I ever knew was the dust at His feet, I would have found enough. I would gladly remain there forever.
Everything apart from him is an overflow.
