Intentional work
It is quieter than most people think.
I imagine intentionality as a landscape working together.
A stream giving water to the willow,
the willow casting shade over the stream,
the grass along the banks holding the soil in place and filtering the water that finds its way through.
Nothing stands alone.
Each part gives something to the next, quietly working together.
To create intentionally looks like that to me.
A moment with a loved one that nobody else saw,
Tears of joy falling down someone’s cheek,
or a quiet lift of a smile while the groom sees his bride that says everything.
On their own, they may seem small but all of these moments, woven together intentionally, produce something.
a day marking the covenant of marriage, holding a feeling that can never quite be recreated, and preserving a love exactly as it was lived.
These moments become a landscape of their own.
One where the smallest things are allowed to take root.
Where quiet details give shape to the whole story.
Where a glance, a reaching hand, a tear, a laugh are not lost simply because they were brief.
That is the intention I carry with me as I film your day.
